Time to report back on my recent purchase. This thing looks pretty tame, right? Only it's inexpensive and the user reviews rave about its sharpening ability. I used it and I agree. It makes a new edge quickly and easily. You can even see the tiny spirals of steel that it removes with its ultra sharp tungsten carbide blades!
Amazon has this AccuSharp 001 Knife Sharpener on sale for $10.- Tungsten carbide blades will not rust and they can be cleaned easily with soap and water or in your dishwasher
