HMMM:
Natalie Portman SNL Video
|
UPDATE: That took as long as I expected. Monday arrived and lawyers came into the office, so the YouTube links are dead. Here's the official link. And hey, as I loaded that link, it crashed FireFox. Super! If you missed it last night on TV, catch the Natalie Portman SNL Video before SNL threatens YouTube (again). It's clear that the Lonely Island boys are making an impact over there. SNL wants to ride the cred/publicity wave of the Narnia video by throwing out a new short every few weeks and seeing what sticks, and I think this one will stick. I enjoyed the hallway bit where she cracks a prop bottle over her head.
As a side note, it's interesting how the Lonely Island news posts seem to embrace YouTube, while NBC lawyers forced the Narnia clip off the site and shifting to a free iTunes download. The target audience for this stuff probably pay wouldn't much, if anything, for a short comedy video. Hopefully NBC will see the light and let these live on the interweb to promote SNL.

HMMM:
Boiling Water and -40C
|
Ever wonder what happens when you throw a bucket of water into the air during a freezing Saskatchewan winter? You get an instant cloud.

HMMM:
Super Mario Speed Race
|
Amusing for the skill and the crowd excitement. Two guys race to finish Super Mario Brothers in six minutes on two large screens. The lead changes a few times.

HMMM:
Fruit-Filtered Bottled Water
|
Not fruit-flavored water, but water taken from fruit. This will probably sell well to people that import water from Europe or believe that their bottled water comes from a glacier just like the picture on the label.

Custom Cave Pot Farm
|
You want elaborate? How about these guys in Tennessee who built a secret pot harvesting lab underneath their house in a cave, complete with a false-rock escape hatch. Check out the solid engineering in the pics.
(Thanks to everyone that suggested a new category!)
