News flash: If you're running the current AVG Free v7.1, your version will expire 1/15/07. The good news? You just need to manually update to AVG v7.5. Rather than putting it off and forgetting about it, do what I just did and force yourself to install it now. It takes about three minutes, then a reboot. Grab v7.5, run it as a "repair" when prompted, and you're all set. It looks like it even keeps your v7.1 settings. I think they couldn't easily push the update this round, hence this minimal hassle.
Back to the usual blurb: It's nice to have a good antivirus program guarding your equipment. I switched to AVG at least three years ago on multiple PCs and it's worked fine so far. Oh, and it's free. Auto-updates and auto-scans can be set up as well. Go grab a copy and stay safe if you're not running anything right now.
